I didn’t get to watch the remake of The Lady Vanishes on BBC1 all the way through (I had to switch to watch the doco Lón Sa Spéir which reveals the story behind the iconic Lunch Atop A Skyscraper photograph which you should watch. Really you should).
But if there are three things I like it’s trains, English socialites and mysteries involving 1930’s English socialites on trains. It filled me with the urge to get the ol’ red lippy and nailpolish out and start smoking.

^ How fab is her hair?! Will have to watch the rest on iplayer later.
I have just now finished watching David Suchet in a Perspectives documentary about Agatha Christie and I am slightly gobsmacked that the image of her as some lovely little old English dear is completely wrong. I could never quite understand how all these stories of mystery and murder (and so many poisonings!) could come from this little old lady. Daft oul’ me of course forgetting that she was not always a little old lady! Imagine that!
Now I want to read Murder On The Orient Express. I really do like trains. First though I’m going to put on some red lippy and finish watching The Lady Vanishes on iplayer.
